Parts and consumables:

  • rags
  • Brake fluid (PSA PRO DOT4+, 1610725580)

Notes:

When the level of brake fluid in the reservoir drops below the “MIN” mark, the control lamp in the instrument cluster lights up in red. It is recommended to check the level before each ride and, if necessary, add fluid to the tank without waiting for the control lamp to light up: this operation is best done in advance. If the brake fluid in the reservoir has to be topped up quite often, immediately contact a specialist or fix the problem yourself.

When changing the brake fluid in the system, remember or write down the brand of fluid that was filled in so that you use the same brand when topping up.

Only use fluids recommended by the vehicle manufacturer that meet  DOT4 or DOT4+ requirements .

Useful advice:

If the Peugeot 207 brake fluid level gradually drops in the absence of leaks, this most likely indicates the need to replace the brake pads. Check the condition of the brake pads. Late pad replacement leads to costly repairs

1. Place the car on a flat horizontal surface and open the Peugeot 207 hood. The reservoir is installed on the master cylinder of the brake system on the left side of the engine compartment near the front end.

2.  Visually check up level of a brake liquid in a tank. It should be between  the "MAX" and "MIN" marks on the tank.

Note:

Do not allow the liquid level to drop below the "MIN" mark.

3.  If the brake fluid level is below the “MIN” mark, turn it counterclockwise and remove the cap from the reservoir. Add brake fluid up to the "MAX" mark.

Note:

It is unacceptable to get brake fluid on wires, plastic or painted body parts, so always place clean rags when pouring. If liquid comes into contact with these parts, wipe them off immediately.

4.  Wrap the reservoir cap by turning it clockwise until it stops. Wipe up spilled liquid with a clean rag.

Note:

When installing a tank cap with a float, the liquid level in the tank rises slightly due to the volume of the float.
