Liquid level check

PROCEDURE

  1. The fluid level in an automatic transmission is measured with the engine and transmission warmed up. To warm up the power unit to the required temperature, you can make a short (15 kilometers) trip.
  2. Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the handbrake securely. Place jack stands under the wheels to secure the vehicle.
  3. Start the engine and let it run at idle. Depress the brake pedal and carefully move the selector from position P to position 1, then back to P.

5-speed automatic transmission 01V

PROCEDURE

  1. Turn out a stopper of a jellied opening (an arrow on an accompanying illustration).
  2. Check the oil level. The oil level should reach the lower edge of the filler hole.
  3. Tighten the filler plug (arrow) to 30Nm with a new O-ring.
  4. Unscrew the filler plug on the left side of the gearbox (arrow in the accompanying illustration).
  5. Check the oil level. The oil level corresponds to the required value if it does not reach 8.5 mm from the filler hole.
  6. Tighten the filler plug to 20Nm.
  7. Install the bottom cover of the engine compartment.
  8. Lower the car onto its wheels.
