Self-diagnosis functions
The self-diagnosis function is designed to check the status of certain functions and components of the vehicle. The test is continuously carried out with the ignition on, both while driving and when the vehicle is stationary.
Information about some failures and malfunctions, urgent repairs or maintenance and other information is displayed on the display in the instrument cluster. Depending on the priority, this information is provided in the form of red or yellow symbols.
Red symbols indicate danger (priority 1), while yellow indicates a warning (priority 2). In addition to the symbols, text messages for the driver are also displayed.
If the menu item " Vehicle status " is displayed, then there is at least one fault message. After selecting this menu, the first error message is displayed. If there are several error messages, the display shows an entry, eg " 1/3 ". This means that the first of the three available messages is displayed. The displayed fault message should be checked as soon as possible.
The fault symbol is displayed until the fault has been corrected. After the first viewing, the symbols are displayed without additional messages for the driver.
In the event of a fault, in addition to the display of the symbol and the output of a text message, a warning tone sounds.
- Priority 1 - three beeps.
- Priority 2 - one beep.
Control lamps of a combination of devices
Depending on the equipment, the Skoda Rapid panel can be equipped with two slightly different versions of the instrument cluster. A simplified version without additional dial indicators for temperature and fuel level and a simple on-board computer segment valve (the so-called "panel with BC") and an improved version with additional dial indicators and an extended on-board computer screen (the so-called "panel with MAXI DOT" ).
