Note:

To improve the appearance of the engine compartment and reduce the noise level, a decorative plastic casing is installed on the Peugeot 1.6 engine. This cover must be removed for most engine repairs and maintenance.​

1.  The decorative casing is fixed with four rubber clamps, put on the studs screwed into the intake manifold. Pull the edges of the casing up to remove the decorative cover.

2.  To reinstall the cover, remove the retainers from their holes and reassemble in reverse order.

Note:

Check the fasteners. Replace torn latches by pressing the edge of the latch leg with a pointed tool (for example, a screwdriver) and push the latch into the opening of the casing.
