Removing the electronic engine control unit in a Ford Focus 2 car

Note:

We remove the electronic engine control unit for replacement or when performing vehicle repair operations related to the possibility of harming the electronic components of the unit (for example, when drying the car in a drying chamber after painting, etc.).

Removing the ECU Ford Focus 2

Disconnect the wire terminal from the "negative" terminal of the battery.

Use a screwdriver to press the front latch.

And the rear lock of the cover of the protective box of the control unit.

We remove the cover.

With a “5” hexagon, we unscrew the screw securing the wiring harness block of the engine control unit.

We take it away from the contact connector of the block.

Using the Torx T-25 key , we unscrew 3 screws securing the block to the protective box.

We take out the Ford Focus 2 ECU from it.
Install the electronic engine control unit in the reverse order.
