Removal and installation of the holder of understeering switches and a contact ring of an airbag of the driver of Nissan Qashqai 2007 - 2013

Tools:

• Open-end wrench 16 mm
• Collar for end nozzle
• Nozzle on the crank 10 mm
• Nozzle for crank 12 mm

Replacing the steering column train Nissan Qashqai 

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

Warnings:

Attempting to remove the airbag module without disconnecting its power supply may cause the airbag to deploy unexpectedly.

It is possible to proceed with the following operations to remove the airbag only after the activator capacitor is completely discharged. To discharge the capacitor, you must wait at least 10–15 minutes after disconnecting the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

Do not disassemble the airbag module.

Do not drop the airbag module or allow water, grease or oil to come into contact with it.

The airbag module must not be exposed to temperatures above 95°C.

2. Remove the driver's airbag.

3. Remove the steering column cover as described here .

4. Remove the left stalk switch.

5. Remove the right steering column switch.

6. Remove the steering wheel.

7. Secure the driver's airbag contact ring against the steering column switch holder with adhesive tape or tape to prevent rotation.

8. Turn out two screws of fastening of the holder of understeering switches and a contact ring of an airbag of the driver to an arm of a steering column.

9. Wring out the top lock of the holder of understeering switches.

10. Remove the holder from the steering wheel shaft. Pull out the holder and unfold it.

11. Press the retainer of the wiring harness block of the stalk switch for direction indicators and outdoor lighting.

12. Disconnect the block from the holder connector.

13. Similarly disconnect block of a plait of wires of a pillow of safety of the driver and remove the holder of understeering switches from a steering column.

14. Establish the holder of understeering switches in gathering with a contact ring of an airbag of the driver and all details in an order, the return to removal.
