Removal and installation of the switch (lock) of ignition Skoda Octavia

The Skoda Octavia ignition switch (lock) is installed on the steering column and secured with two M8 bolts with self-cutting heads, therefore, to replace it, it is necessary to drill the bolts with an electric drill. It is more convenient to replace the ignition switch on the steering column removed from the car.
To remove and install the ignition lock, you will need: a drill, an electric drill, a screwdriver with a flat blade.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

2. Disconnect the wiring harness block from the immobilizer antenna.
3. Remove understeering switches.

4. Drill out bolts of fastening of the case of the lock to a steering column.
5. Remove an arm of understeering switches with the case of the lock of ignition.
6. Install the ignition switch (lock) in the reverse order of removal.
7. After removing and installing the ignition lock, tighten the new mounting bolts until the heads break.
