You will need a flat blade screwdriver.
Note:
The driver's airbag must be removed when repairing the vehicle's steering and electrical components, so the process of removing and installing it is described in this manual.
To avoid injury, strictly follow the recommended sequence of work.
Removing and replacing the driver's airbag Nissan Qashqai J10
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
WARNINGS:
Attempting to remove the airbag module without disconnecting the wire from the battery negative terminal may cause the airbag to deploy unexpectedly.
After disconnecting the wire from the "minus" terminal of the battery, you must wait at least 60 seconds, only after that you can proceed to remove the airbag.
2. Through the holes on the reverse side of the steering wheel, press the latches (one on each side) that mount the airbag module.
3. Gently lift the module and move it away from the steering wheel hub.
4. Disconnect a conclusion "minus" of a sound signal.
5. Press the latch of the wiring harness of the audio system and on-board computer control module.
6. Disconnect the block from the connector.
7. Pry off the Nissan Qashqai airbag pad retainer with a screwdriver and lift it up.
8. Disconnect block from a pillow.
9. Similarly, disconnect the second connector from the airbag module.
Note:
Do not disassemble the airbag module.
Do not drop the airbag module or allow water, grease or oil to come into contact with it.
The airbag module must not be exposed to temperatures above 93°C.
10. Install the driver's airbag on the Nissan Qashqai in the reverse order of removal.
