Note:
The Nissan X-Trail cooling radiator must be replaced if an antifreeze leak is detected in it.
Remove the cooling radiator only on a cold engine.
Before removing the Nissan X-Trail cooling radiator, you will first need to remove the cooling fan, air duct and drain the coolant.
Coolant drain on Nissan X-Trail
1. Install the car on a flyover or other elevation.
2. Raise the hood cover and fix it with an emphasis.
3. To relieve pressure in the cooling system, slowly turn the radiator cap counterclockwise.
4. Remove the cover.
5. Turn off and remove a cover of a broad tank.
6. Get under the car. Use a flat screwdriver to pull out the caps and remove the protection.
7. Place a container under the Nissan X-Trail cooling radiator drain valve.
8. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the drain bolt on the radiator.
9. Wait until the antifreeze is completely drained.
10. Replace the rubber gasket on the drain bolt and screw the bolt back on.
Removing the air duct Nissan X-Trail
1. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry out the 3 duct holders.
2. Remove the plug with two holders, and pull out the 3rd retainer.
3. Disengage the lower air duct outlet from the lower air receiver duct and the rear outlet from the air filter housing.
4. Pull the air duct up and towards you and remove.
Removing the Nissan X-Trail Radiator Fan
1. Squeeze the spring clamp with pliers and disconnect the upper hose from the cooling radiator.
2. In the same way, disconnect the expansion tank hose from the radiator filler neck.
3. Press the latches and disconnect the 2 wire blocks from the fans.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness and expansion tank hose from the Nissan X-Trail cooling radiator fan.
5. Using a 10 mm socket wrench , remove the 2 electric fan mounting bolts.
6. Remove the fan assembly with shroud.
Removing the Nissan X-Trail Cooling Radiator
1. Disconnect the bottom hose from the cooling radiator.
2. Using a 10 mm socket wrench , remove the bolts securing the Nissan X-Trail cooling radiator brackets.
3. Remove brackets.
4. Pull the Nissan X-Trail cooling radiator up and out of the engine compartment.
5. Check up a condition of rubber support of a radiator.
6. Replace cracked and hardened supports with new ones.
7. Check the condition of the removed Nissan X-Trail engine cooling radiator. If necessary, rinse and blow it off dirt.
8. If the cooling radiator is defective, replace it with a new one.
9. Install the Nissan X-Trail fan and radiator in the reverse order of removal.
10. Install the air duct in the reverse order of removal.
11. Fill the engine cooling system by slowly pouring coolant into the radiator to the level of the vapor tube.
Note:
To avoid air locks, pour antifreeze into the Nissan X-Trail radiator very slowly (filling speed should not exceed 2 liters per minute).
12. Close the radiator cap tightly.
Note:
When the engine is running, the cooling system is under pressure, so coolant may leak from under a loosely wrapped plug or the plug may be torn off.
13. Add antifreeze to the expansion tank up to the “MAX” mark.
Note:
Do not fill the fluid reservoir above the MAX mark, as the volume will increase when the engine is running.
14. Tightly wrap the reservoir lid. If antifreeze is spilled on wires, painted or plastic body parts, wipe them off immediately with a clean rag.
15. Warm up the engine to operating temperature (electric fans should turn on at least 2 times) and stop. When the engine is cool, check the level of antifreeze in the expansion tank. If necessary, bring it up to standard.
