  • Collar for end nozzle with extension
  • Nozzle on the crank 10 mm
  • Nozzle on the crank 13 mm
  • Jack 2 pcs.
  • Pliers

Parts and consumables:

  • Petrol
  • Fuel drain tank

Notes:

Remove the fuel tank to flush or replace it.

We perform work on a viewing ditch or overpass, preferably with an empty tank.

Since the fuel tank is rather heavy and has an awkward shape to hold, it is recommended to remove it  with an assistant.

1.  Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Relieve pressure in the power supply system as described here.  We start the engine and wait for it to stall (gasoline in the fuel system should run out).

Note:

To remove fuel residues after disconnecting the connecting hose of the filling pipe from the tank pipe, pump out the fuel through the opened hole in the tank.

3.  Using pliers, unscrew the screw securing the aluminum protection.

4.  With a “10” head, unscrew the two nuts securing the heat shield to the fuel tank and two nuts of the heat shield fastening plate to the bottom of the body. Having unbent the heat-shielding screen, we take it away from the fuel tank.

5.  We substitute a jack under the gas tank and slowly raise it. This is done so that the tank does not fall on you during the repair process.

6.  With a “13” head with an extension, we unscrew one bolt of the front fastening of the clamps that press the fuel tank to the bottom of the body, and two bolts of the rear fastening of the clamps that hold the fuel tank.

7.  Disconnect the supply hose from the fuel filter.

Note:

During removal, gasoline may leak, approximately half a glass.

8.  Using a flat screwdriver, loosen the tightening screw of the clamp, after which we remove the hoses shown in the photo, since it is very difficult to put them back on the other end.

9.  We loosen the fastening clamp and disconnect the filler pipe hose from the pipe located on the fuel tank. Remove the clamp from the hose.

Note:

The clamp for fastening the connecting hose of the filling pipe to the fuel tank branch pipe is disposable; if the connection is depressurized, replace it with a new one.

10.  We begin to slowly lower the jack, but not to the end, as you can break the wiring. We remove the pipe on the gas tank.

13.  In order to make it easier to remove the fuel tank, raise the car, lower the jack with the gas tank, and slowly pull it out from under the car.

14.  Install the fuel tank in reverse order. We fill the tank with fuel, turn on the ignition, and check the tightness of the fuel line connections.
