Tool:
- Collar for end nozzle
- Nozzle on the crank 10 mm
- Spanner wrench 11 mm
- balloon wrench
- Shoes (2 pcs.)
- Jack
- Support leg
Parts and consumables:
- Rear wheel brake slave cylinder
- Brake fluid
- Brake tube of the working cylinder of the rear wheel
1. We install the car on a flat area, turn on the first gear and put wheel chocks (shoes) under the front wheels.
2. Remove the rear wheel from the side of the working brake cylinder being replaced. You can read more about removing wheels in this article .
3. We clean the place of attachment of the brake pipe and the bolts of the wheel cylinder from the back of the brake shield from dirt.
4. Remove the brake drum as described here .
5. Raise the parking brake lever. Due to this, the upper ends of the brake pads of the rear wheel will move away from the stops of the pistons of the wheel cylinder.
6. Unscrew and remove the nut securing the brake tube to the working cylinder of the rear wheel brake mechanism.
Note:
After removing the tube, it must be plugged immediately to avoid leakage of brake fluid. For these purposes, the cap from the fitting for pumping the brake system is well suited.
Warning:
After prolonged use, the nut of the brake tube to the wheel cylinder can literally "grow" with the tube. This leads to the fact that when the nut is loosened, the tube itself rotates, which twists and bursts very easily.
In this case, it is best to just slightly loosen the nut and unscrew the bolts securing the working brake cylinder, and then unscrew the cylinder itself from the tube mounting nut.
After removing the cylinder, it becomes possible to unscrew the nut. To do this, apply brake fluid to it and very carefully, rotating alternately in both directions, unscrew the nut.
7. Holding the working cylinder of the rear wheel, on the opposite side, unscrew the two bolts of its fastening.
8. We remove the working cylinder from the car.
9. We examine the removed working cylinder. If defects are found, we replace it with a new one.
Note:
If the new working cylinder does not have a protective cap on the brake system bleed valve (air release), then you need to install a cap from the old one on it.
10. Install a new wheel cylinder in the reverse order of removal. If the brake pipe is damaged during the removal of the old cylinder, it must also be replaced with a new one. We assemble and install all removed parts.
Note:
In order for the brake pads of the rear wheel to become in working position after assembly, it is necessary to press the brake pedal to the stop several times.
11. We perform bleeding (bleeding) of the hydraulic brake system, as described here .
