Installation of soundproofing doors Hyundai ix35

Note:

This article describes how to soundproof the doors of a Hyundai ix35 car.

To soundproof the front doors on the Hyundai ix35, do the following:

1. Remove a covering of a forward door.

2. Remove the door film (cutting its adhesive with a knife) and remove the speaker.

3.  Degrease the places where you will apply vibroplast. Cut out suitable pieces of vibroplast, heat them with a technical hair dryer and apply inside the door (through the technical holes; they are shown by white arrows) and roll the vibroplast with a roller.

Vibroplast STP Silver 2 mm.

4. Vibroplast is used as the first layer.  Degrease the places where you will apply vibroplast. Cut out suitable pieces of vibroplast, heat them with a technical hair dryer. Apply to the door and roll the vibroplast with a roller. Put the speaker back in place.

5.  Noise isolation (splen) is used as the second layer.  Degrease the vibroplast. Cut out suitable pieces of splen and heat them up with a blow dryer. Apply to the door and roll them with a roller.

WARNING:

Noise isolation (splen) must be well heated with a technical hair dryer from the side of the adhesive layer, otherwise it does not take the desired shape and does not stick well.

6. Peel off the standard soundproofing from the door trim. Degrease the skin, cut out suitable pieces of noise insulation (splen), heat them with a technical hairdryer. Apply to the door trim and roll them with a roller.

Noise isolation (splen) 4 mm.

Note:

It is better to use 10 mm bitoplast for door trim. Then the skins will fit back without problems.​

7. To establish a covering of a door in an order, the return to removal.

To soundproof the rear doors on the Hyundai ix35, do the following:

1. Remove the tailgate trim and rear speaker.

2. Turn off fastening of the internal handle of a door. Pull the handle forward to disengage the latches and lower the handle down (without disconnecting it from the cables).

Note:

It is not necessary to disconnect the inner door handle, only for the convenience of gluing the vibroplast.

3. Remove the power window or unscrew the five bolts securing the rear door module (the location of the bolts is shown by white arrows). Insert a 25 mm board into the hole. (or a plastic bottle) so that your hands crawl through.

4. Degrease the places where you will apply vibroplast. Cut out suitable pieces of vibroplast, heat them with a technical hair dryer and apply inside the door (through the technical holes. They are shown by white arrows) and roll the vibroplast with a roller.

5. Screw the rear door module back on and install the door handle.

6. Vibroplast is used as the first layer.  Degrease the places where you will apply vibroplast. Cut out suitable pieces of vibroplast, heat them with a technical hair dryer. Apply to the door and roll the vibroplast with a roller. Put the speaker back in place.

7.  Noise isolation (splen) is used as the second layer.  Degrease the vibroplast. Cut out suitable pieces of splen, heat them with a technical hair dryer. Apply to the door and roll them with a roller.
