Depending on the configuration, a control unit for the heating (air conditioning) and ventilation system with manual control or an automatic microclimate control system (climate control) is installed on the car.
Outside air can enter the passenger compartment through the door windows with the windows down and the air intake located in front of the windshield.
The air from the air intake can enter the passenger compartment through the blower nozzles (windshield, side, center and bottom nozzles).

7 - Defrosting windows, dehumidification, air recirculation.
The thermotronic system (climate - control) independently regulates the interior temperature, the amount of air supplied and the distribution of air in automatic mode.
The amount of air supplied through the nozzles to the areas of the heads and the rear of the cabin can only be adjusted manually.
The thermotronic system (climate - control) heats or cools the car interior depending on:
1 - Selected temperature.
2 - Solar radiation.
3 – Outdoor air temperatures.
The car is equipped with an activated carbon filter that traps dust particles, pollen and odors from the outside air entering the car interior. The filter replacement interval depends on the influence of the environment, such as heavily polluted air. Replacing the cabin filter is described in this article .

Note:
Condensation may accumulate under the vehicle.
If the interior of the car is very hot from the sun, ventilate the car before driving.
Keep the air intake slots between the hood and windshield clear of snow.
Do not place any objects on the driver's seat panel. Otherwise, they may block the solar sensor on the driver's side.
To create ventilation air, set the sliding handles of the middle nozzles to the middle position.
Air dehumidification (Reheat):
In economy mode, neither cooling nor dehumidification is performed. Select this mode only for a short time. Otherwise, the windows may fog up.
Shutdown:
To turn on, press the AC off button, the indication will appear on the display.
Turning on:
To turn on, press the AC off button, the indication will disappear from the display.
Residual engine heat:
After a long drive, the Mercedes Vito 639 engine radiates residual heat. You can use this residual engine heat in the car.
Note:
The duration of heating depends on the coolant temperature and the selected passenger compartment temperature.
Regardless of the position of the air supply regulator, the fan runs at the lowest level.
To switch on residual motor heat:
1. Turn the ignition key to position 0 or remove it.

2. Adjust according to your needs:
– Temperature.
– Air distribution.
– Air nozzles.
3. Press the REST button and the indication will light up on the display.
To turn off residual engine heat:
1. Press the REST button and the indicator lamp in the button will turn off.
Note:
Residual engine heat utilization mode is automatically deactivated:
– Approximately 30 minutes later.
– If you turn the key to position 1 or 2.
– If the battery voltage drops.
Basic climate control settings:
Auto mode
Turning on automatic mode:
1. Press the AUTO button and the indication will appear on the display. The climate control system is automatically adjusted.
Turn off automatic mode:
1. Press the AUTO button and the indication will disappear from the display. The air conditioner saves the current settings.
Temperature control:
Set the temperature using the temperature controller. Change the temperature only in small steps.
Boost:
Press the temperature control at the top. The display shows the selected temperature. If you select a temperature above 28ºC, the display will show " Hi ". If the thermotronic system is operating at maximum cooling capacity, the display will show MAX COOL.

Downgrade:
Click on the temperature control at the bottom. The display shows the selected temperature. If you select a temperature above 16ºC, the display will show " Lo ".
Adjusting the amount of air supplied:
If necessary, you can manually adjust the amount of air supplied in seven steps. The display shows the set amount of air supplied by means of a bar graph.

Note:
If you have switched on the automatic mode of operation of the thermotronic system and press the buttons for the amount of air, then:
– Indication - will disappear from the display.
– Air distribution remains in automatic mode.
Increase air supply:
Press the top fan button. The fan runs at the selected operating mode level. The selected air output is shown on the display by means of a bar graph.

Air supply reduction:
Press the lower fan button. The fan runs at the selected operating mode level. The selected air output is shown on the display by means of a bar graph.
Automatic air distribution mode:
Press the AUTO button. The indication AUTO appears on the display. The climate control system is automatically adjusted.
Air distribution adjustment:
Distribute the supplied air using the air distribution regulator. The set air distribution is indicated on the display by means of arrows.
Note:
If you have switched on the automatic mode of operation of the Thermotronic system (climate - control) and turn the wheel of the air distribution regulator, then:
– Display - disappears from the display.
– The amount of air supplied remains in automatic mode.
The symbols on the switch mean the following:
Left symbol:
– Directs air to the ventilation nozzles.
Top character:
– Directs air towards the windshield.
– Directs air to the ventilation nozzles.
Right symbol:
– Directs air towards the windshield.
– Directs air to the ventilation nozzles.
- Directs air into the footwell.
Lower character:

Manual air distribution mode:
Turn the air distribution control knob to the desired position.
Automatic air distribution mode:
Press the AUTO button. AUTO will appear on the display. The air conditioning system automatically regulates the amount of air supplied through the middle and side nozzles. The amount of air supplied depends on the air distribution.
You can additionally use the adjusting wheel on the nozzles to adjust the amount of air supplied.
Air recirculation mode:
If unpleasant odors and dust enter the passenger compartment from the outside, you can temporarily turn off the fresh air supply. In this case, fresh air is no longer taken in, but instead the air in the passenger compartment is recirculated.
WARNING:
Switch on the air recirculation mode only briefly. Otherwise, the air quality may deteriorate and the windows may fog up.
The fogging of the windows leads to a deterioration in visibility, which increases the risk of an accident. Poor visibility can endanger you and other road users.
Switch off the air recirculation mode as soon as possible.
The button for the air recirculation mode is located in the thermotronic control panel (climate control).
Turning on:
Press the recirculation button and the indication will appear on the display. Or press the air recirculation button and keep it pressed for more than 2 seconds:
