Note:
Before replacing the Nissan X-Trail transmission selector pad, you will first need to remove the gear shift knob.
Also, before replacing, it is advisable to disconnect the “negative” terminal wire from the battery with a 10 mm head.
Replacing the trim selector manual transmission Nissan X-Trail
1. Move the gear knob to 2nd gear.
2. Pull the handle up and towards you with sufficient force.
3. Remove the manual transmission handle from the lever.
Note:
The knob on the shift shaft cannot be reinstalled.
4. Pry off the edge of the Nissan X-Trail gear selector cover with a plastic spatula.
5. Pull out of the latches and remove the top console trim from the floor tunnel lining.
6. Disconnect the wire blocks from the Nissan X-Trail gearbox selector cover.
7. Remove the trim.
8. If necessary, replace the Nissan X-Trail selector pad with a new one.
9. Establish an overlay of the selector and the manual transmission handle into place in an order, the return to removal.
Replacing the lining selector automatic transmission Nissan X-Trail
1. Pry off the lower plastic holder (decorative ring) with a plastic spatula.
2. Lower it down.
3. Pull out and pull out the metal retaining bracket.
4. Pull up and remove the automatic transmission handle.
5. Pry off the edge of the Nissan X-Trail gear selector cover with a plastic spatula.
