Note:
Allow the exhaust system to cool down before carrying out repairs as the exhaust system becomes very hot when the engine is running.
Exhaust gases are poisonous and poisoning by them occurs imperceptibly. Therefore, before starting the motor in the garage, be sure to open the gate.
The procedure for replacing the main muffler with a Nissan Note
1. Place the vehicle on a pit or lift.
2. Clean the ends of the bolts and nuts from dirt and rust with a metal brush. Lubricate the nuts with a light penetrating lubricant such as WD-40.
3. Turn away 2 nuts of connection of pipes of the additional and main mufflers.
4. Remove the rear and front suspension pad of the main muffler from the brackets on the muffler.
5. Separate the pipes.
6. Remove the main muffler Nissan Note.
7. If necessary, replace it with a new one.
8. Install the Nissan Note main muffler in the reverse order of removal.
Useful advice:
To facilitate the installation of suspension pads, grease the main muffler brackets with soapy water.
Note:
On some car models, the secondary and main mufflers are connected by a clamp. In this case, you will need to unscrew the clamp nut, remove the clamp and disconnect the pipes.
