Note:
This article describes how to change the outboard bearing on the Hyundai ix35.
As a rule, if the intermediate shaft fails, it is not a closed connection that is to blame. The spline connection on the right front drive, between the intermediate shaft and the inner grenade, is not closed by anything. No duster or seal.
1. Remove the intermediate shaft as described in this article .
Intermediate shaft for Hyundai ix35.
2. Remove the intermediate shaft support.
3. Remove the bearing circlip and press out the old bearing using a suitable drift.
Old and new intermediate bearing for Hyundai ix35.
Note:
Outboard bearing size for Hyundai ix35 - outer diameter - 62 mm, inner diameter - 30 mm, width - 21 mm.
The bearing is very rare and you can order an analogue, but its width will be 20mm. You can take a steel wire with a diameter of 1 mm, lay it in a circle into the bracket where it is pressed out and then press the bearing.
4. Press the new bearing into the intermediate shaft support, use the old bearing as a mandrel.
5. Install the circlip on the new bearing.
6. Wash the intermediate shaft splines and apply grease.
7. Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
