Tailgate Switch Replacement Nissan Note 2004 - 2012

Note:

To access the Nissan Note tailgate switch, you will first need to remove the tailgate trim.

Removing the tailgate trim Nissan Note

1.  Raise the hood and disconnect the wire from the "negative" terminal of the battery.

2.  Raise the trunk lid.

3.  Take a flathead screwdriver and wrap it with cloth or duct tape so as not to scratch the door. Pry off the edge of the trunk lid trim with a screwdriver. 

4.  Remove the lower part of the upholstery by pulling it out of the clips.

5.  Pull out on both sides of the piston fastening the side trims of the door.

6.  Grasp the edge and, overcoming the resistance of the latches, alternately remove the two side upholstery of the tailgate.

7.  Remove an upholstery of a cover of a luggage carrier.

8. Wring out a clamp and disconnect a block of a plait of wires of lanterns of illumination of license plate.

9. Disconnect the adapter block from the holder on the door.

10. With a 10 mm head, unscrew the 4 nuts securing the tailgate lining.

11. Overcoming resistance of clamps, remove an overlay of a door of a back.

12. Pry off the lamp harness seal. Pull the wire harness and adapter out of the hole in the tailgate panel.

Nissan Note Tailgate Switch Replacement

1. Remove the 2 screws securing the license plate light holder to the tailgate trim.

2. Remove the Nissan Note lamp holder.

3. Squeeze the Nissan Note tailgate lock switch latches and push the switch into the holder opening.

4. Wring out a clamp and disconnect pads of wires of the switch.

5. Remove the switch block from the opening of the license plate light holder.

6. Remove the Nissan Note tailgate lock switch.

7. Replace the Nissan Note tailgate switch with a working one.

8. Install the new switch and tailgate trim in reverse order.
