Replacing the trunk lid lock on a Nissan Note

1. Open the hood. Disconnect the wire from the "negative" terminal of the battery.

2. Raise the trunk lid.

3. Remove the 3 bolts securing the Nissan Note tailgate lock.

4. Pull the lock out of its slot in the door.

5. Squeeze the clamp of the wiring harness block and disconnect it from the lock of the Nissan Note luggage compartment lid.

6. Remove the lock.

7. Replace the Nissan Note door lock with a working one.

8. Install the Nissan Note tailgate lock in the reverse order of removal.
