Note:
Periodically clean the elements of the throttle assembly, especially when the idle speed becomes unstable. In this case, it is better to clean not only the idle speed regulator, but the entire mechanism.
The cleaning operations for the throttle assemblies of the F16D3 and A15SMS engines are the same, since the design of the mechanisms is very similar.
1. Remove the throttle assembly as described here .
2. Remove the throttle position sensor and idle air control from the throttle assembly .
3. Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the throttle valve from the shaft by unscrewing the two screws securing it.
4. Clean the idle air control as described here .
5. Then clean the channel of the idle speed regulator in the throttle assembly.
6. Similarly, clean the throttle valve, the walls of the throttle assembly and its body: spray with a cleaner, let it soak a little and remove deposits with a rag.
7. Reinstall the throttle valve.
8. Then install the sensors in the seats of the throttle assembly.
9. Install throttle body and removed parts in reverse order as described here .
