Depending on the modification, two types of rims are installed on Hyundai Solaris cars: stamped steel with a diameter of 15 inches or cast with a diameter of 16 inches. Steel rims are made from two parts. The wheel rim, on which the tire is mounted, and the disk are connected to each other by welding. For light alloy wheels, both parts are combined into a single part.

Parameters of rims on a Hyundai Solaris car

Wheel Parameters:

A is the width of the rim profile (in inches);

B - shape of side flange;

C is the rim diameter (in inches);

D - holes for the hub studs;

E - tire bead profile;

F - departure ET (in mm);

G is the point at which the maximum runout of the disk is measured;

H is the center of the disk.

Wheel markings.  The parameters of the rims are indicated in the photo below, which are given in their marking.

Wheel markings.

The rim marking, for example,  15x6J , is  deciphered as follows:

15  - rim diameter in inches;

x  - deep rim;

6  – rim profile width in inches;

J  - the shape of the side flange of the rim (J-shaped);

H2  – (in this case, the parameter is not specified) a deep rim with annular belts on the landing flanges (humps on both landing flanges of the rim).

Checking the radial and lateral runout of the discs.  Attach the disc without tire to the axle of the balancing device. Install the measuring tip of the dial indicator first on the radial and then on the lateral inner surface of the disk, on which the tire bead rests. Slowly rotate the balancer disc with your hands while reading the indicator. At the same time, do not take into account the deviation of the indicator arrow from local protrusions or recesses on the disk.

Surfaces for measuring disc runout on a Hyundai Solaris car

Disc runout measurement surfaces:

H - radial runout;

S - lateral runout.

Note:

Maximum runout of the steel disc: H = 0.8; S = 1.0 mm.

The maximum runout of the alloy wheel: H = S = 1.5 mm

If the maximum runout value is greater than the specified value, replace the disc.
