Notes:

This article describes how to properly check the engine oil on a Mercedes.

Before checking the oil level after a trip, stop the engine and wait 5-10 minutes until the oil drains into the crankcase.

Check the level with the vehicle on a level surface.
Add oil of the same brand, viscosity and quality class as the one used previously.

The oil level in the crankcase must not exceed the “ MAX ” mark.

Note:

The total volume of oil in the Mercedes Vito engine is 9 liters.

Before removing the pointer, wait two to three minutes to allow the oil to drain into the crankcase. The oil level in the engine crankcase must not exceed the maximum mark, otherwise there may be leakage through gaskets and seals, increased oil consumption.

6.  After the oil level reaches the required level, tighten the filler cap. Remove oil spills with a clean rag.

Useful advice:

To facilitate topping up the oil, it is convenient to use a funnel. In the absence of a funnel for adding oil, you can make a funnel from the neck of a plastic bottle.
