The photographic material in the article can be found for various engine modifications. Replacing the Skoda Rapid filter, the procedure and the approximate placement of the nodes are similar in all options.

1.  Changing the Skoda Rapid oil begins with the fact that you need to unscrew the plug from the oil drain.

Note:

If the vehicle is equipped with a crankcase guard, remove it to access the drain hole. Versions and location of the protection mounting bolts may vary.

Note:

Oil drains much better from a warm engine. But, in this case, be careful when unscrewing the drain plug so that hot oil does not get on your hands and other parts of the body.

3.  Slightly turn the oil filter with a wrench and wait until the oil drains from the filter.

4.  After all the oil has been drained, clean the oil drain plug, install a new O-ring and tighten the plug to 35 Nm. Depending on the configuration, the ring can only come with a cork. In this case, both parts are replaced.

Note:

The execution of the heads of the crankcase plugs is sometimes different. They also come with a spanner key and / or a hex key. For light-alloy pallets, plugs for a simple key are used, for steel pallets there are plugs for Torx.

5. Before removing the filter, cover the generator and other nearby parts with a rag. Remove the old oil filter completely.

Warning:

The replacement filter must not be cleaned and reused. In the further handling of used filters and engine oil, it is necessary to comply with the relevant rules and regulations for oil management and the disposal of used oils and used filters!

6.  Fill the new oil filter with oil, which is prepared for pouring into the engine, to about a third of its volume. Lubricate the supplied O-ring of the new oil filter with oil.
