- Fine fuel filter No. 31112-1G000
- Coarse fuel filter No. 31090-1G000
Notes:
The manufacturer recommends replacing the fine fuel filter no later than 60,000 km. However, judging by the reviews of car owners, it is preferable to change the part after 30-35 thousand kilometers. The reason is the general poor quality of fuel at filling stations.
The fuel filter in Kia Rio 2 is located in the tank, under the rear seats.
1. Remove the fuel module as described here.
2. Remove the fuel level sensor and disconnect all wires from the top cover. Then take it off.
3. Squeezing a clamp, disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the fuel pump.
4. Carefully remove the Fuel Backflow Module.
5. Having prying off an edge of the holder of the fuel pump, remove the holder.
6. Remove the pump assembly with the fuel coarse filter from the module housing.
7. Look inside and remove the sealing ring from the fuel pump fitting.
8. There is also an o-ring at the top of the filter. Remove it for further installation on a new filter.
9. Pry with a screwdriver and carefully remove the coarse filter mount together with the fixing washer, ensuring its integrity.
10. Reinstall the new pre-filter and retaining washer.
Useful advice:
Before putting the sealing ring on the fitting, lubricate the ring and its seat with gasoline for better sliding.
11. Install a new fuel fine filter and all removed parts of the fuel module in the reverse order of removal.
