Parts and consumables:
- Funnel (if needed)
- Rags (if necessary)
- Coolant
Notes:
This article describes how the level is checked and, if necessary, Mercedes Vito coolant is poured.
Check with your vehicle dealer for the brand of fluid used in your vehicle. Do not mix liquids of different colors and different manufacturers. If you do not know the brand of the liquid filled in, and the liquid needs to be topped up, replace all the liquid in the cooling system. Only use products from trusted manufacturers. Remember that the use of poor quality coolant leads to costly engine repairs.
It is advisable to check the fluid level in the expansion tank of the cooling system at each inspection of the car before leaving, and always in case of engine overheating and the associated release of fluid from the system.
1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and open the hood as described in this article .
2. The expansion tank is marked MIN and MAX .
Coolant expansion tank for Mercedes-Benz Vito.
Coolant level marks in the expansion tank on the Mercedes-Benz Vito.
Note:
If the fluid is at or above the MAX mark on a cold engine , the coolant level is high.
If the coolant is at or below the MIN mark on a cold engine , the coolant level is low. Add coolant to Mercedes Vito
The coolant level on a cold engine should be between the MIN and MAX marks , and on a hot engine it should exceed the MAX mark by about 1-1.5 cm.
3. If you need to add fluid, then turn the plug counterclockwise and remove the plug.
Warning:
The cooling system is under pressure. Therefore, unscrew the plug only after the engine has cooled down. Otherwise, you may be burned by the coolant.
4. Add coolant to the expansion tank to the correct level.
Warning:
Coolant that has fallen on engine parts or paintwork must be removed with a rag.
5. After topping up the liquid, tightly tighten the cap of the coolant expansion tank.

Helpful Hints:
It is convenient to use a funnel to facilitate topping up the liquid. In the absence of a funnel for adding liquid, you can make a funnel from the neck of a plastic bottle.
If the newly poured antifreeze suddenly suddenly turned brown quickly, it means that you were sold a fake, in which they "forgot" to add corrosion inhibitors. Change the fluid as soon as possible before it eats away at the cooling system.
