Good day to all!
Well, this did not pass me by to take into account, namely the installation of the HWP on the rug.
To be honest, I was infuriated by this relic of the past in the form of drum brakes.
I understand that the polo is certainly not an F1 car, but there are never too many brakes.
Well, we need to somehow solve this problem.
Quite a few options have already been found for its solution, but I decided to conduct another experiment, namely, I bought a rear axle beam from a VW POLO 5 HB, which already has a caliper mount and all other related utensils.
In anticipation of a miracle, I went to a friend in order to put it on a rug.
We have set to work...
Removed native beam and began to vkoryachivat from HB! And then hello "ETITSKAYA HOLY! SHE DOESN'T FIT!" On HB, the attachments to the body are at a different angle, and therefore, at least dance with a tambourine, but you won’t be able to screw it in there!
"What to do? .."
Well, do not put back your own!
- No, let's bet from golf 4, the one that was put on polo until September 11.
- Let's!
This beam was urgently found and hoisted onto a car, but another problem arises here, namely, the fastening of the trunnions to the beam is different. Yes, of course, it would be possible to put the previous trunnions and bearings, BUT here is another ambush, I have an ESP of 9.0, and it is not friendly with ABS sensors from golf. So you need to change the abs to 8.2 — no! I definitely won't do this! After sitting and smoking, it was decided to drill 2 holes in the trunnions.
Of course, this idea did not please me, since the distance from the hole to the end of the trunnion fastening is reduced. At that moment, I looked at the trunnion from the NV - DAMN there is even less distance! This calmed my soul.
Well, what is the decision to make - VPERED!

"Why the hell did you change the beam ?!" you ask.
Yes, in order to get HDT and the correct mounting of the ride height sensor! But that's a completely different story...

Well, now let's get to the photo.

Beam.

We got to work.

The beam has been dismantled.

Beam from r4 and hdt in place.

Outcome:

Don't forget to code the rear disc brakes in the abs unit!
