So. Finally, I realized one of my main ideas - I installed the original rear-view camera from VW Scirocco in addition to the RCD 510. Many will now start throwing rotten tomatoes at me, because I touched the sacred - the car body, namely, I made a cutout in the trunk lid under the camera.
I made a template from a laminated piece of paper (it’s convenient, it’s dense), outlined it with a marker. Then he took a screwdriver and drilled inside the contour with a thin drill. I dug out the drilled piece, and cleaned the edges with a file, then finished everything with a file. Edges primed. The camera itself was put on sealant. Unfortunately, there was not much time to take pictures, so as it is.
I don’t force anyone to do this, but as you know, the choice of original VW cameras that can somehow be installed on our car and connected to the RCD / RNS 510 is not so great. There are only 3 options:
- Camera from Scirocco. In my opinion, the most suitable option. A miniature camera and a hole for it is not large.
- Camera from Tiguan / Golf +. But for it you need to make a very large hole.
- Take a Chinese camera instead of backlighting the number, disassemble it and screw the original camera module into it. As they say at your own peril and risk, although there are already kulibins.
There is also a 4th option. Take a Chinese camera and buy a video interface for it (about 10,000 rubles). But that's not for me.
As it turns out, the camera itself (number 5K0 980 551) is the same for both scirocco and tiguan/golf+, the difference is only in the case. In the first version, this is only the camera itself, in the second, it is combined with the trunk opening button (therefore, the size is large). The set cost me $8,000.
The kit consists of:
- 5K0 980 551 - camera.

— 5M1 970 161 AC — video cable.

- 3W0 807 210 B - camera holder (box).

- 3W0 807 151 - cover (valve).

- 3B0 972 722 - 4-pin connector.

In general, I got fired up with this idea, after several unpleasant incidents (but fortunately I didn’t damage anything). A couple of times I moved the posts, which are not visible in the mirrors, and once I moved the trash can (I was put right under the bumper and when I got into the car I couldn’t see it. I pulled back and heard that something was scratching, but I repeat, I moved successfully). There are places with high curbs near the house, and when parking, you sometimes had to get out and estimate the distance to the curb, this time is another matter. I park as always on the mirrors, but when there is a bad place behind, you can always look. It's convenient for parallel parking. You can stop from the rear of the standing car in a few centimeters. Parktronic will not give such accuracy. Okay, what to describe, everyone already understands how convenient it is. In general, here is the result.

Connection kit.

The camera is assembled.
