Replacing the crankcase ventilation valve (PCV) Nissan X-Trail
1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and lift the hood.
2. Using a 10 mm socket, disconnect the wire from the "negative" terminal of the battery.
3. Using a 10 mm socket, unscrew the 2 screws securing the engine trim.
4. Remove from the front of the holders and remove the trim.
5. Disconnect the hose from the Nissan X-Trail crankcase ventilation valve.
6. Unscrew the valve.
7. Replace the Nissan X-Trail crankcase ventilation valve with a working one.
8. Replace the rubber o-ring. If this is not possible, move it from the old valve to the new one.
9. Install the Nissan X-Trail crankcase ventilation valve in place and tighten.
10. Connect a hose to it.
11. Install the engine trim.
