Parts and consumables:

- Crankshaft pulley 0515.V2 (if necessary)
- Purifier
- Motor oil
- rags
Note:
If you notice that the front crankshaft oil seal is leaking, replace it, as the oil, getting on the crankshaft pulley damper, will corrode the rubber and you will have to change a more expensive part - the accessory drive pulley.
See below how to replace the front crankshaft oil seal on a 4B12 Peugeot 4007 engine.
1. Apply the parking brake and place a wheel chock under the left rear wheel. Use a wheel wrench to loosen the right front wheel nuts 1 turn, and then use a jack to hang the right front of the car and completely unscrew the wheel nuts to remove the wheel.
2. Then remove the right side engine mudguard as described in this article .
3. Remove the mounting bolt, then move the expansion tank of the cooling system, together with the connected hose, to a position where it will not interfere with the removal and installation of the accessory drive belt.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt as described here .
5. Fix the Peugeot 4007 crankshaft pulley from turning with a special tool (fork holder and special bolts, kn, respectively MB990767 and MD998719).
Note:
To avoid damage to the crankshaft pulley damper, use only the specified special tools for removal.
Attach the special tool securely so that it does not move.
6. Use a 22 mm socket to unscrew the central bolt securing the crankshaft pulley and remove the bolt with washer.
7. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
Note:
If the damper is damaged, the crankshaft pulley must be replaced.
8. Cut a part of a working edge of an epiploon of a cranked shaft. Wrap the tip of the screwdriver with a cloth, insert it into the slot of the stuffing box and remove it.
Note:
Be careful not to damage the crankshaft and timing chain cover.
9. Clean the timing chain cover in the area of the crankshaft shank from deposits.
10. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the lip of the oil seal around its entire circumference.
11. Tap the drift (MB991448) to install the crankshaft oil seal into the timing chain cover so that it is positioned relative to the cover as shown.
Note:
Be careful not to damage the new crankshaft seal when installing.
12. Install the crankshaft pulley and tighten it to 210 Nm.
13. Install the accessory drive belt and other removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
