1. To replace the cabin air filter, the decorative cover at the top of the front passenger's footwell must be removed.

2.  Unscrew the two plastic screws and remove the plastic cover.

3.  Pull the plastic cover of the cabin filter cartridge to the right.

4.  Next, pull down and disconnect it from the paper filter itself.

5.  Pull the paper filter down evenly on both sides. Remove the old Volkswagen Passat cabin filter.

6.  Install a new cabin filter, observing the correct mounting sides.

7.  After the filter is fully inserted into the niche, put on and secure it with the plastic cap of the cartridge.

8. Replace the decorative plastic cover and secure it with two plastic screws.
